How to Elope at Emerald Lake, BC
Taylor and Katie flew in from Toronto, for one BIG adventure…To come for their mountain elopement in the Canadian Rockies. ( Insert excited fist pump here. ;) )
Connecting with my clients is so, so incredibly important to me. Since elopements are usually destination based for my couples, I don’t often get the opportunity to meet them before hand.
I sent out a little questionnaire to learn more about them, and guess what they love…TEA! I myself am a daily tea drinker, so I was pretty happy about that. Not to mention they are outdoorsy, super easy going and up for pretty much anything! {Including getting into glacier fed water.. Say what?? I’ll fill you in on that below..haha}
Katie told me that they were 100% flexible with whatever time I suggested to shoot. {Yay!} I met them during golden hour at Emerald Lake Lodge, BC, Canada, and off we went for photos! I started off by taking them to a waterfall nearby where they threw off their shoes, and rock hoped to the middle of the the river and said their vows to one another. There they stood, in a brand new place, on a brand new adventure of starting their lives together as a married couple. <3
We eventually headed back to Emerald Lake Lodge to finish up shooting. As the sun was setting behind them across the lake I instantly though, gosh wouldn’t it be amazing to get them in the water with the sunset reflecting off the mountains/water behind them. It’s didn’t take ANY convincing to get these two to kick off their shoes and walk right in. Talk about an incredible ending to an unforgettable day. <3
I get to meet so many wonderful people who share the same passion for life and adventure as I do, and often it leaves me truly wishing I had more time to spend with them. I am so thankful for all the beautiful, unforgettable moments people trust me to document for them. {Taylor and Katie, make sure you get in touch with me if you guys ever visit again. <3 }
SNEAK PEEK of the photos below, enjoy!
